U.S. M-1 Carbine made by Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors between May of 1943 and March of 1944. 18" Saginaw "S.G DIV. OF GENERAL MOTORS" marked barrel is undated. Arsenal post-War rebuilt rifle with dished, unmarked, milled front sight, unmarked Type III rear sight, and bayonet style "AI" marked front band. Inland marked trigger group with mixed parts, later flip safety, and M-2 style magazine release. Recoil shield with no markings. Unmarked round bolt with "S" marked slide. Walnut oval cut low-wood stock marked "IO" in sling well with "P" proof on grip and uncut for M-2 with remnants of Crossed Cannons proof on right side of stock. Augusta Arsenal (A.A.W.) rework stamp on left side. Walnut 2-rivet top wood with no markings. Comes with "SY-B" marked 15 round flat bottom magazine and CMP Authenticity paper. CONDITION: Overall good with 90%+ arsenal finish on metal remaining. Stock has been lightly cleaned with light handling marks. Good bore with ME of 2 with good mechanics. A great looking carbine. DLM
