Manufactured in 1958 as an updated version of the VZ.52 rifle chambered in the Warsaw Pact standard 7.62x39mm cartridge rather than the proprietary 7.62x45mm cartridge, making these rifles popular today despite their relative scarcity. This example remains in standard military configuration with chrome lined phosphate finished 20 - 3/4" barrel, hooded post front sight, tangent rear sight, side folding bayonet, enamel finished bolt carrier and dust cover, phosphate finished removable magazine, yellow finished 2-piece hardwood stocks, and stamped butt plate. Complete with 4 additional magazines in correct surplus leather pouches and a web sling. CONDITION: Near excellent. Bountiful amounts of arsenal applied phosphate and enamel finishes are retained with scattered marks. Stocks are likewise very good with some added finish and a few marks. Excellent mirror bore. Mechanically fine. BAS
