U.S. M-1 Carbine made by National Postal Meter between September 1943 and November 1943. 18" "UNDERWOOD" marked barrel dated "9-43" with standard military front sight and later rear adjustable sight. Barrel is import marked with C.A.I. marking. Carbine has undergone rebuild with correct but mixed internal rebuild parts. Walnut stock uncut for M-2 with rebuild stamp and "LW-B" in sling well with external rack number stamped on left side. "IO" marked walnut 4 rivet topwood. Comes with period G.I. woven sling and oiler. Missing magazine. CONDITION: 80% original arsenal finish with light carry wear. Wood has usage marks and dings with cleaned surface and sharp markings with oil-soaked appearance. Good bore with ME of 1 and good crisp mechanics.
