1 of only approximately 200 FN-49 sniper rifles manufactured by Fabrique Nationale under contract for Luxembourg. The receiver is stamped "AL" (Luxembourg) over the chamber, with FN's manufacturer information present across the right. Left side of receiver is mounted with the lower half of an original Echo mount by Herkner. Scope and top half of scope mount are not present, as is common due to many of these scopes being reused on later produced FAL rifles in Luxembourg. Underside of stock bears a small cartouche, just forward of the trigger guard assembly. Metal components exhibit a black enamel finish, while the stock, handguard, and marksman pattern cheekrest are comprised of wood. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, receiver cover, bolt, as well as on the stock. Rifle is mounted with a leather M1 Garand pattern sling and is accompanied by a Luxembourg contract bayonet. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their black enamel finish, exhibiting some spots of flaking and some minor wear. Bright bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture is very good, showing some scattered marks from handling and storage. Bayonet shows some light wear, but is otherwise very good.
