U.S. M-1 Garand with action made by Springfield Armory in July of 1942. 24" barrel marked "SA", dated 7-42, and fit with correct early lock bar rear sight. SA marked uncut op-rod with SA marked bolt. Milled style trigger group with all correct SA markings. Walnut stock with correct hardware, "P" in circle inspection mark, light crossed cannon cartouche, and "SA/EMF" inspection marks. Comes with 16" "U.C." marked bakelite handled bayonet dated 1942 with original green composite sheath. Rifle also has period leather style sling. CONDITION: 85% original arsenal metal finish with some edge wear. Stock has oil-soaked appearance with light scratches and dings. Good bore with TE of 2 and ME of 2. Good mechanics. Nice World War II gun that looks like it came right off the G.I.'s back.
