An unsurprisingly crude example of a Confederate cavalry saber scabbard, possibly manufactured by Louis Froelich. The scabbard is constructed of a heavy iron body with iron drag, brass carry bands, brass throat, and iron rings. Crude off-center seam. Slightly misshapen iron rings. Throat is marked "XII". Measures approximately 36 - 1/4". The scabbard exhibits a dark gray patina with scattered small dents and a significant strike toward the drag. Obvious wear with scattered blemishes. CONDITION: Good.
