Originally manufactured by the Inland Division of General Motor from between May 1942 and December 1943. Correct Inland marked "5-43" dated barrel with "N" marked type I-A protected blade front sight and faintly "S" stamped flip rear sight. Inland marked receiver with "W" flat bolt, "U" and "M" marked slide, "SG" trigger group with mixed internals including "FPB" pushbutton safety and "M" and "W" marked magazine catch. Low wood paratrooper stock marked in channel "IO", with an encircled "P" firing proof and crossed cannons stamped above the pistol grip, a "P" stamped on the right side of the fatboy grip, and both crossed cannons and "SA" Springfield Armory markings on the base. Correct style folding stock with leather cheekpiece and "IS" oiler. Type II "IO" marked handguard retained by a Type I band. Complete with a parkerized "IA" marked 15-round magazine, tan woven sling, and contemporary canvas case. CONDITION: Very good, retaining nearly all of its reapplied matte gray finish throughout with some light marks. The bolt retains the majority of its original blued finish. Stock is a very fine armory replacement, showing light handling marks, a small crack above the grip, and a small split beginning at the base of the grip. Bright bore retaining strong rifling throughout. Mechanically fine.
