Weighing 3 - 1/2" pounds each, these exquisitely floral inlaid and jeweler caliber engraved Mexican spurs with the iconic Eagle and Snake Mexico National emblem feature 4 - 1/2”, 6-point oversized rowels, swinging floral shaped silver buttons and original carved and piteado threaded leathers. The shanks form the figural “8” and are inlaid with the Xicalcoliuhqui motif, more frequently referred to as “step fret” or Greek key design, a common pattern in Mesoamerican art. Excellent condition with strong traces of original bluing remaining.
