Lot consists of: (A) Early Framed Portrait Miniature on ivory of Captain John Paul Jones. The piece measures approximately 4 - 1/2" x 4 - 7/8". Hand written india ink on reverse reads "CAPT. PAUL JONES / AMERICAN HERO". Nice image with a few noticeable cracks. Black painted wood frame exhibits spider-webbing but remains intact. Handwriting on reverse partially obscured. CONDITION: Good. (B) Circa 1780s small wax bust of Lord Richard “Black Dick” Howe contained in a small circular wood frame. The piece measures approximately 5" in diameter. Information written on reverse reads "London England / Aug 1 - 1975 / About 1780 / (Wax) / Lord Howe". The bust is marked "F.R.D." under shoulder and rests on a cloth background. Nice patina to bust with a few light blemishes and 1 hairline crack. Frame exhibits glued borders on reverse and handling wear. CONDITION: Good.
