A wonderful example of the desirable G. S. Garcia pattern No. 16 “Rattlesnake” silver inlaid spurs. Cut out bands and well marked inside the bands G. S. GARCIA in one and ELKO, NEV. in the other. The bands are 1 - 1/4" outside and a 1/2" on the inside. The 2 - 1/2" shanks are topped with a barrel style chap guard, all with silver inlaid stripes. The engraving is crisp with even blueing to the iron. The complimentary contemporary conchos on the studded straps have central eagles and John Estrada style engraving overall. This model is prominently featured in “Bit and Spur Makers in the Vaquero Tradition” by Ned and Jody Martin on page 225.
