Large and impressive classic Confederate Civil War iron "D Guard" Bowie. Unknown manufacture with an overall length of 21" with a blade width of 2" at the ricasso. Handles are hardwood slabs attached by 3 iron pins. Clip point blade was period sharpened with a 5 - 1/2" false edge. Full tang peened over. CONDITION: Excellent with a nice warm patina overall and uncleaned blade.
