Lot consists of a knife with 6" double edged spear point blade marked "ROBERT / LINGARD / SHEFFIELD" maker mark at ricasso. Plain nickel silver guard. Cast cutlery handle with rocailles. Scabbard with gilt stamping, lines, and vines. Nickel silver throat missing stud. The knife was passed down with a faux book made of marble with the Lord's Prayer on reverse as well as 7 cabinet cards related to the 78th Illinois Infantry Regiment.
