Lafette style ground mount dated "3/63" manufactured by DISA (Madsen) for MG-42/MG-3/MG-53 machine guns. This tripod retains its original olive green paint, shoulder straps, Hensoldt periscope sight, and sight illuminator battery pack. Mount is accompanied by 2 custom made adaptors: one for use with the 1917A1/1919A4 Browning belt-fed machine guns, and the other for the MG08/15 Maxim machine gun. This tripod comes in its own contemporary manufactured transit chest. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Original paint shows some wear and abrasions, with some mildew present on the back-pad. Optic is clear and very serviceable, with the lens cap starting to dry rot. Adaptors are also very serviceable. This is a very desirable set-up for the recreational machine gun enthusiast as this mount is relatively lightweight compared to the earlier World War II mounts and, as one can see, readily adaptable to different guns.
