Manufactured by Springfield Army in the mid 1950s. As is correct for early Type I National Match rifles of this period, only the barrel is marked "NM", stamped on the left side between the gas tube rings. Other components were selected based on fit and quality but not marked. The 24" Springfield barrel is dated "12-55" and chambered in .30-06. Protected blade front sight and post-War style "DRC" marked rear aperture sight. Springfield "SA" marked cut op rod, bolt, and trigger group components. Walnut military stocks with faint encircled "P" firing proof and boxed DOD stamp refinished to an attractive gloss. Standard stock hardware. Complete with stock tools in trap and a green woven sling. CONDITION: Very good. Metal components retain nearly all of their arsenal parkerized finish and show only very light wear. Stock is very fine as refinished with scattered handling marks. Fine bright and shiny bore with well-defined rifling and a few minor imperfections. ME 1. TE less than 1. Mechanically fine.
