A redware jar, with heishi beads around the bottom of neck. Carving of Avanyu with an inlaid turquoise stone. A cabochon red stone inlaid near base, signed on bottom with stylized DA. Some flaking to the finish, minor crazing, minor surface wear, shows dirt and grime. 6-1/4'' tall.
Da went on to become enormously successful, and his success was justified by his talent and vision. Today, his pottery pieces rank among the most valuable Native American artworks.
