A copy of the Girandoni rifle as famously used on the Lewis & Clark expedition. 32" octagonal deeply rifled barrel, brass blade front sight, V notch semi-buckhorn rear sight. Undecorated brass frame and steel lock, full length stock with light incised carving, including moulding about the forearm and florals around pineapple finial. Ivory-tipped ramrod retained by 2 turned brass ferrules and feeds into a reinforced mouth. Screw-in reservoir with "E.C. & R.K. / 1.1" and "E.C. & R.K. 1" on frame next to male thread. Accompanied by a shooter's kit that contains the paraphanelia required to operate these guns including spare magazine, air bottles, tools, etc, and the air tank to fill the reservoir. This exact rifle was the one used on the NRA Special on these guns, and was in other videos and articles. Accompanied by a brief history writeup, printout of article on these guns, and a DVD with BUP files, presumably of the mentioned episodes. CONDITION: Overall very good, with virtually all of the bluing on the barrel with some minor losses to high edges. Brass a mottled gold. Lock and air reservoir a polished steel, with some spots of mossing to reservoir. Mechanically fine, bore is strong with sharp rifling. Accessories are very good. A very scarce example.
