This helmet pattern was developed by Prince Albert, and bears his name as a result. Typical construction with ring chinstrap attached at rosettes over the ears, spike top, and associated furnishings. Silver plated, possibly for parade use, and evidence of NevrDull or an equivalent cleaning compound in recesses. Cloth and leather liner on interior, intact. 14th Horse was an Armoured Corps of the Indian Army, and were known as 14th Prince of Wales's Own Scinde Horse prior to Indian independence. They served with distinction from the Second Sikh War through to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. In the modern day they participated in UNOSOM II. CONDITION: Overall very good. Silver plate has some tarnishing and spotting throughout, easily cleaned should the new owner desire. There is an area of the front of the helmet that is much cleaner and was probably protected by a device at one point. Leather and cloth liners have some minor tears and handling marks throughout, including age related distress. A very presentable example.
