Made by Springfield Arsenal in 1945. Blued 24" "SA" marked steel barrel dated "10-46" with correct front sight and late style rear sight. Blued finish receiver with "SA" marked bolt and stamped trigger group. "SA" marked cut op-rod. Standard configuration walnut stock with "R.A." rebuild stamp and encircled "P" grip stamp. "SA" marked gas tube with 4-corner slot plug. Comes with a 1942-dated "OL" marked black bakelite handled bayonet in green fiber sheath and period-style woven green sling. CONDITION: 98% overall arsenal metal finish with gas tube showing some fading gray and pits. Sanded and refinished stock with handling marks. Good bore with visible rifling and roughness with ME of 2 and TE of 2 with good mechanics.
