Built by National Postal Meter between November 1943 and June 1943. Originally, this receiver was made by Union Switch and Signal for National Postal Meter. Standard military finished 18" barrel stamped with "Marlin", undated, and with correct "UN" marked barrel band with front swivel. Standard early style flip rear sight with "SN" marked milled front sight. "N" marked trigger group with unmarked magazine release and "SN" marked push button safety. Visibly unmarked recoil shield. Blued flat bolt and the slide are marked "N". 1-piece slide spring. Low wood hardwood stock with "Trimble TN" marked sling well, no cut for M-2 switch, oval cut oil slot, and "NPM / FJA / (Ordnance Wheel)" inspector marking on right side with "A" in groove. 2-rivet top wood. Complete with a NOS wrapped 15-round magazine, web sling, and oiler. CONDITION: Overall 95% remaining Arsenal finish. Stock has visible markings but was lightly cleaned. Good bore with ME of 2+ and crisp mechanics. No visible import marks.
