Classic wartime configuration with parkerized finish, half moon front sight, frame notch rear, USP markings, case hardened trigger and hammer, 2-piece smooth walnut grips, and lanyard loop butt. Various parts labeled with electropencil and also inscribed "L.t. (J9) USN / R.E. Cohenour / The Gun saw / action at / -Iwo Jima / -Okinawa / -Pensacola / U.S.S. Tennessee / BB43". Robert Eugene Cohenour of Salt Lake City, Utah served aboard the Tennessee during WWII, while the ship served bombarding Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and suffered a Kamikaze strike. Gun is also accompanied by a 1943 dated Boyt shoulder holster with "Cohenour" carved on the reverse. CONDITION: NRA Good. Very good bore. A very interesting piece deserving of further research.
