Very nice albeit refinished Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) Lewis Model 1914. This specimen includes an original BSA manufactured bipod mount, two spare barrels, aluminum radiator, and one spare cylinder and operating rod. Typical BSA markings on action cover somewhat softened incidental to refinishing, as are the model markings. Serial numbers are matching between forward half and receiver. Rear sight marked for .303 MK VII ammunition. Savage patent dates on rear buttplate. Caliber of bolt and barrel in gun verified as .303. Electronic NFA registry indicates “INTERNATIONAL ARMORED GROUP” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is an extremely fine old refinish thinning to gray patina at the high edges, with some softening to the markings and some light pitting and handling marks under the refinish. Still, this gun presents very well indeed, especially if one does not closely inspect it. Forward sling swivel is broken away, yet still serviceable. Wood has typical light dings and handling marks. Bore in gun has shiny lands with light pitting, and somewhat dark in the grooves. But not to worry as the two spare barrels are extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp and smooth. Spare cylinder tube and op rod appear to be in good serviceable condition, as does the spare radiator assembly. This is a full auto only machine gun. The Lewis machine gun was a preferred model light machine gun of World War I and is a popular recreational machine gun today. This is a very attractive ensemble. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2024-05-32.
