Howa of Japan manufactured less than 4,000 AR-180 rifles for ArmaLite between 1972 and 1974. This extremely early example serial number "S000160" is among the first produced in Japan featuring an early misaligned "0" in the "AR-180" marking and serial number located on the upper. Standard matte finished 5.56 chambered barrel with 3-prong flash hider, protected post front sight, and 2-leaf aperture rear sight. Also fitted with an ArmaLite 2.75x20mm scope with covers. Stamped construction upper marked with pertinent manufacturer information on the left in white infilled stamping. Furniture includes black polymer handguard, AR-18 marked pistol grip, and side folding stock with rubber pad. CONDITION: Very good. Rifle retains nearly all of its factory applied finishes with some mild wear. Furniture has a few light scuffs and marks but is otherwise very good. Strong, bright bore. Fine mechanics. Clear optics.
