Early and highly desirable "T" prefix specimen of the high quality manufactured Smith & Wesson Model 76 machine gun with one original 36 round magazine. The standard civilian production guns were serialized with a "U" prefix U101 through U6100. There was a small Navy contract produced and delivered during the Vietnam war and all documented specimens have a "T" serial number prefix. Production started in 1967 and ran through 1974. Electronic NFA registry indicates, “SMITH AND WESSON”. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original smooth dark blue finish. Steel swing-out shoulder loop with black hard rubber covering and composite handgrip, also extremely fine. Magazine retains nearly all of its gray green finish. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt extremely fine. This is a select fire machine gun. An attractive specimen which has the added appeal of being a both a Vietnam-era machine gun and also as a very fun recreational shooter.
