High condition Colt 1921 Thompson with Cutts Compensator (actually 1921AC model). Gordon Herigstad's serial number listing of serial numbers & histories indicates "San Francisco, California Police Department shipped 5/23/29” and “Interstate Arms Corp, Billerica, Massachusetts 3/98”. This gun is marked “S.F.P.D.” on the left side upper immediately above the trigger guard. This gun retains its original 1921 internal parts and correctly "anchor" marked original buttstock. Typical markings on receiver with visible serial numbers matching. Crisp clear lettering and sharp edges throughout. One matte blue finish Bridgeport 50-round “L” drum, four 20-round lustrous blue finish magazines, and purple felt lined reproduction hard case. Electronic NFA registry indicates “COLT” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original deep lustrous blue finish thinning to a gray patina at the high edges with some very light scratches on the sides of the receiver, with some loss of finish at the stock attachment points and on the buttplate. Wood is extremely fine and attractive with some bruises and handling marks. Drum is extremely fine to near excellent matte finish. Stick magazines near excellent. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. A particularly handsome original finish Colt Thompson with San Franciso Police Department history. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-05-073.
