Lot consists of two fine condition well-made Romanian manufactured water jacket assemblies for the German MG-15 machine gun, and one clamp on shoulder brace to go on the MG-15, and a carrying handle for one of the water jackets. Original (not Nazi-marked) bipod on one of the jackets with leather retention strap. Late in WWII the German had more MG-15 machine guns than they had aircraft to emplace them into. Since there was always a need for more machine guns in a ground support role, the Germans (and Romanians) manufactured water-cooled jacket assemblies, which screwed right onto the MG-15 receivers in the place of the air-cooled shrouds. This provided for a longer sustained period of fire (something very useful in a defensive role). As a production shortcut, the shoulder brace was simplified to a non-hinged shoulder plate. A carrying handle that clamped onto the water jacket made it easier to move the gun about. No barrels are included with this lot, but IMA had many of them at one time, and they surface from time to time on the secondary collector’s market from time to time. One drain cover missing from one jacket as well as the cork, but the cork hardware is present. CONDITION: Fine original paint on one jacket flaking to a gray patina. Near excellent original green paint on the other jacket, which retains bipod and leather strap. Shoulder brace is fine with the leather in need of some restorative oil. Carrying handle near excellent. If you want to spend more time shooting your MG-15 at the range instead of letting it cool off, these are the parts you need. JWK 2024-05-145.
