Special Weapons Company remanufacture of a British Sterling MK II machine gun. Back prior to May 19, 1986, a licensed manufacturer could legally take an original cut-up machine gun receiver, and carefully weld it back together, place their own required manufacturer’s markings on it and notify the BATF they had manufactured a fully transferable machine gun. This is one such specimen here. It retains the original Sterling markings and serial number on the top of the magazine housing and also “SPECIAL WEAPONS CO SWC0076” on the left side of the receiver tube. One can also see a cap screw on the underside of the shroud which firmly holds the shroud assembly in place on the now threaded trunnion of this gun. This screw can be removed and the entire assembly replaced by an included “Don’s Gun Shop” silencer assembly. Note that both the shroud, and the silencer are set up with rails which accept and include a red dot sight. This is a shooter’s set-up and the consignor states this is a very accurate and very fun gun to shoot! Two magazines are included with this lot. The Sterling is a very popular recreational select-fire machine gun. Electronic NFA registry indicates, SPECIAL WEAPONS CO” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent pebble finish upon remanufacture. Red dot scope functions. The bores of both assemblies are near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. What a great pistol caliber machine gun set-up for a recreational or competitive shooter! This gun is fantastic fun at the range. THIS LOT INCLUDES TWO NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEMS AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
