Very attractive Colt 1921 Thompson with Cutts Compensator (actually a 1921A model). Gordon Herigstad's serial number listing of serial numbers & histories indicates, "Department of Corrections, Albany, NY”, This has an unusual, somewhat plum, finish to the upper receiver. Close inspection indicates “touch-up” blue, with some barely discernable bit of polishing in places. Barrel index mark is also just a tiny bit off. This gun retains its original 1921 internal parts and the "anchor" remains discernable on the buttstock. Typical markings on receiver with visible serial numbers matching. Crisp clear lettering and sharp edges throughout. Two 30-round and two 20-round Bridgeport magazines are included. Electronic NFA registry indicates “COLT” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent combination of original deep lustrous blue finish and touch-up blue with some tiny marks under the finish on the right side on the lower beneath the markings. Some loss of finish at the stock attachment points and on the buttplate. Wood is extremely fine and attractive, very lightly sanded and refinished with some slight bruises and handling marks. Stick magazines range from fine to near excellent. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. A very handsome Colt Thompson in a desirable configuration. Previous owner stated it came from Sing Sing Prison. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-05-113.
