Nice World War II issue British Mk II Sten. Top of magazine housing retains clear “STEN MK II”, while the underside of housing has the serial number and “J.L. & Co Ltd” manufacturer’s marking with broad arrow proof. No magazine present but these are available from numerous sources. The Sten MK II was manufactured in great numbers for WWII and is a very simple and straightforward machine gun made mostly of metal stampings. It was far less costly and quicker to produce than the previous models such as the Lanchester. The Sten machine gun found its way to every part of the British Empire and to other countries as a reliable and compact machine gun that took commonly available ammunition. Electronic NFA registry indicates “STEN” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good, an original combination of blue and black enamel paint finish turned a uniform gray and brown patina, with much more finish on the barrel and magazine housing. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright, bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. Curio and Relic eligible original Sten guns are rather uncommon relative to the number “tube guns” there are out there, and are much in demand. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-09-073.
