DSP. Maker marked "The Matthews Co., Detroit." An outstanding c. 1930s Stransdale Ice Cream "Consistently Superior" double-sided porcelain sign. CONDITION: Side one, has outstanding color and gloss throughout, with very minor surface stains in the white sections to note, as well as one very minor nick to the porcelain in the "r" of "Cream." The outer edges of the sign also show very minor porcelain damage. (9.0). Side two, also has excellent color and gloss throughout, with slight areas of surface staining in the white background. There is one area of crazing running into the outer field on the bottom right-hand corner, as well as porcelain loss on the outer edges and at the hanging holes. (9.0). The sign has been TAC authenticated.
