Manufactured by Springfield circa 1952. Full parkerized finish. Springfield barrel dated "5-52" with drawing number covered by the handguard, as is appropriate for early example made before November 1952. Barrel is threaded onto the correct M1D scope mounting block which sports a correct M84 scope, serial numbered 30568, with rubber eye cup. National match protected blade front sight and locking bar rear. Springfield bolt. "HRA" marked trigger group with milled trigger guard. Standard unmarked walnut stocks with "MRT / 1 52" stamped leather cheekpiece. Complete with a "194(?)" ink stamp dated green woven sling. CONDITION: Near excellent. Arsenal finishes show only mild wear. Stocks likewise have scattered impressions and light adhesive residue on the right side. Cheekpiece has some scuffs. Very good bright bore with sharp rifling. ME reads just above 1. TE greater than 3. Fine mechanics. Optic has some clouding and is in need of cleaning.
