One of only 1,410 National Match M1s manufactured in 1961, as designated by the triangle barrel code. Built on a circa 1955 to 1957 Springfield with receiver. "8 54" dated Springfield barrel marked "NM" on the left between the gas tube rings. "NM / 062" front sight and non hooded National Match rear. "NM" marked cut op rod. Springfield trigger group. Classic profile walnut stock arsenal glass bedded for accuracy with encircled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Complete with "MRT" ink stamped green woven sling, 6-piece cleaning rod, and combination tool. CONDITION: Near excellent. Nearly all of the arsenal parkerized finish with some mild high edge silvering. Stock has some scattered impressions but rates very good overall. Bright bore with minor imperfections. ME reads approximately 2.5. TE of 6. Fine mechanics.
