A very nice example of an M1879 stable frock, overalls, and 2 kepi covers. Cavalry and light artillery were issued white canvas 3 button stable frock coats that were issued for wear while grooming horses; as they were made of canvas rather than wool, these garments were easily cleaned. (A) Stable frock complete with all 3 metal buttons. Light soiling throughout from exposure but appears unissued. (B) Overalls for the M1879 stable frock complete with all metal buttons. Original tag is present that identifies these overalls as a "size 4". Light soiling and in matching condition to frock. (C) M1872 kepi cover with original tag "THE MANHATTAN SUPPLY CO. / CONTRACT / SEPT. 14TH, 1894". Matching condition to frock and overalls. A very nice set that was most likely unissued with stains and soiling from storage. CONDITION: (A-C) Very good. (D) Spare kepi cover with soiling throughout. Remains sturdy. CONDITION: Good.
