This is a B.A.R. that tells a story of two World Wars. Originally manufactured for WWI by Winchester with a “6-18” barrel date, crossed cannon, and flaming bomb ordnance proofs, this gun went through a complete retrofit to 1918A2 configuration by “RA” (Raritan Arsenal) and had “A2” hand-stamped added to the model markings on the top of the receiver. First style gas regulator, and "F A S" selector markings on this gun. This machine gun went to Europe, and found its way to Britain, as evidenced by the British Nitro Proofs applied to the left side of the barrel (for export). This gun has a brown composite buttstock with provision for a monopod, smooth wooden fore-end, and incorporates a bipod, and carrying handle. Included with this lot is a green web sling, nine new-in-wrapper 20-round magazines, one lustrous blue finish 20-round magazine, a magazine loader, and .30 M1 steel ammo can. Electronic NFA registry indicates “INPORTED NFA FIREARM” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent smooth arsenal gray blue refinish with some thinning to the finish in places to a gray patina. Furnishings exhibit some light handling marks. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only machine gun. This is for the collector who appreciates the evolution of the B.A.R. and its use in the 20th century. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
