Marked on the top, “Holland & Holland. 13, Bruton Street, London.” and “Holland’s .244 “MAGNUM” with British nitro proofs for 19.5 tons. The Mauser bolt action is marked with the serial number “2915” on the left side of the receiver with British proof on the receiver ring. The wing safety has “SAFE” inlaid in gold. The alloy bottom metal is marked “Made in England” near the front action screw. “4. Cartridges” on floor plate, and “2915” on trigger guard bow. Rifle has double set triggers and hinged floor plate. The nicely streaked European walnut pistol stock measures 14" over a leather covered pad. Stock has sling swivels, silver oval with the initials “T.C.”, steel trap grip cap, and Monte Carlo shadow cheek piece. Forend has horn tip, and has a recoil bolt through the stock. Checkering is fairly coarse and flat topped in typical Holland style. Rifle has a Leupold 1-piece base permanently affixed to the top of action, and is mounted with a Leupold Vari–X III 4.5-14 power scope. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel and action retain 90-95% blue with handling marks and minor thinning to sharp edges. Bolt shroud retains essentially all of its case colors, somewhat faded. Lacquer on bottom metal shows wear on edges, and a few scratches. Stock retains 95% of an oil finish, and has a few very light handling marks. There are some gaps in the inletting in front of barrel chamber. Bore is bright and shiny, with some erosion in the throat. On right side of bridge on action there are a couple of filled screw holes for receiver sight.
