The bores on this rifle measure 10mm; exact caliber is unknown but we believe it to be a 10.25x40R. The maker is stamped on the matted rib "MILLER & VAL GREISS MUNCHEN". The serial number is found on the underlever release and on bottom of barrels. Stamped under the barrels is number 8725. This German double rifle features case color back action locks and exposed hammers, all lightly engraved. The engraved trigger guard has a horn grip. The underlever barrel release is also made of horn. The blued barrel has gold wedding bands at breech. The checkered splinter forearm is secured by a wedge. The checkered stock has a roll over cheek piece with a very wide base. The metal butt plate has a trap. Rifle also features double triggers. On the barrels, the front sight is present, but the rear dovetail is empty, and there are seven scope or sight mounting tap holes, all with filler screws. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrels retain approximately 98% blue finish with some handling marks and a few light freckles. The frame and its components shows flashes of case color but basically grey patina. Engraving is sharp. The stock has some dings, the checkering has been sharpened and the entire butt has been refinished. The butt stock toe has a spliced repair. The forearm has some light chipping along right edge and the checkering shows some added finish. The bores are strong. Both hammers engage.
