Based on the serial number AA37512, this carbine is built on a circa 1982 lver Johnson receiver although marked on the ring "NATO/ CAL. 30 M-1 / ATLANTA, GA. U.S.A." This is the only carbine marked as such known to Larry Ruth who believed it was possibly assembled by Military Armament Corp. The carbine sports a "11 50" dated Springfield Armory barrel with military sights. Small parts appear to be largely military with late features including a round bolt and flip safety. Unmarked potbelly M2 cut low wood stock and "SA" 4 rivet hand guard retained by a bayonet lug band. Complete with a post war khaki sling. CONDITION: Near excellent. Nearly all of the factory parkerized finishes are retained with light wear. Stock has scattered dings but rates very good. Very fine, crisp bore. ME reads less than 1. Fine mechanics. An interesting carbine deserving of further research. PROVENANCE: Larry Ruth Collection
