Manufactured circa mid 1943 based on components, the receiver is void of roll-die markings. Possibly a postwar employee sales gun with original finish. Parts are all early correct National Postal Meter with a "NN" milled front sight, square "S" flip rear sight, "N11" blued bolt, "N9" slide, "N 9" narrow wall trigger housing, Type 2 "NH" dogleg hammer, "SN" mag catch, push button safety, khaki "S-N" c-tip sling. It is fitted with an early undated "BA" marked Buffalo Arms barrel, high wood Trimble stock with 2-rivet hand guard retained by a type 1 "UI" band. No cartouche present. CONDITION: Excellent for its age. Metal components display nearly all of their original finishes with only light handling. Stock is also fine, some scattered impressions present. Very good bright bore with crisp rifling. ME of 2. A very interesting time capsule. PROVENANCE: Larry Ruth Collection
