Late manufacture and fitted with a "10-43" IBM barrel without Ordnance proof mark. "N" marked milled front sight and "I.R. CO." adjustable rear. Blued round bolt. Pushbutton safety and "EP B" marked magazine catch. Metal is finished in brilliant chrome for presentation with blued small parts. The gloss finished low wood "LW-B" stock has a presentation plaque reading "PRESENTED / BY / IBM PLANT# 4 / POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.". 2-rivet "BR-B" handguard is likewise gloss finished to presentation quality and retained by a type 1 flat band. A green woven sling with chrome plated sliding buckle, possibly the original for this carbine is included. CONDITION: Very good. Nearly all of the lustrous chrome plating is retained, some freckling present on the barrel. Blued components are also very nice. The bolt shows some cycling wear. Stocks have only light handling marks and spotting. Very good, strong bore. ME measures just over 2. Fine mechanics. WWII presentation carbines are very scarce, those from IBM even more so with only a few known. This highly attractive example would make an excellent addition to an advanced collection. PROVENANCE: Larry Ruth Collection
