Circa 1910 per William Evans's online search. 26" dovetail lump barrels with a replacement blade front sight on a serrated flat tapering rib, with a raised island at the muzzle, with slots for moon sight and hood. Silver line express rear sight, standing leaf regulated for 100 yards and 2 folding leaves regulated for 200 and 300 yards, with 4 drilled and tapped holes between express sight and rib extension. Engraved over the chambers "William Evans (From Purdey) 400/360 2 3/4 Solid Metal Case" and "63 Pall Mall, St James's , London. "40 GRs Cordite Powder, 500 Grs Soft Nose Nickel Bullet". Doll's head rib extension, barrel flats with British nitro proofs and serial number. Splinter forearm with rotating lever release above point pattern checkering, and matching serial number on interior iron. Boxlock action side "William Evans" on both sides of boxlock with matching serial number and view proof on action flats. Engraved in English pattern rose and scroll, and case colored. Double triggers are protected by a trigger guard engraved with classic rose and scroll en suite with action, with tang extending down to pistol grip cap. Automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid in gold ahead of slide. Straight grained walnut stock with two panels of point pattern checkering about the wrist, a pair of silver plaques inlaid at toe line, and a fixed sling stud at toe, finished by a Decelerator soft rubber pad. CONDITION: Very good as partially rehabilitated. Barrels with the vast majority of a well executed bluing, with some handling marks and a few spots of inactive oxidation on left side of muzzle. Forearm is very good with some handling marks, abraded heads, and a professionally repaired splinter on left side. Action largely gunmetal grey at carry point, with case colors visible at edges and particularly visible in recoil shield recesses. Bottom metal and trigger guard with approximately half of the English high polish bluing with losses to extremities and carry point. Stock is very good with some handling marks and impressions, some heads partially abraded. Mechanically fine, bores with strong rifling and some mild frosting throughout. This is a lively little double rifle, in a caliber suited for most North American and African game.

CORRECTION: This is a BL extractor not an ejector model. Title updated.
