Very desirable original produced at the factory Inland manufactured US M2 carbine. Marked “M2” on the receiver with “6-45” dated Inland barrel. Serial is correct for the date at 7.4 million. Note the “A” visible on the selector lever visible from the left side. This gun has undergone government retrofit since WWII with adjustable rear peep sight, bayonet lug forward barrel band, round bolt, and flip safety. It retains an early four rivet hand guard. One 30-round and two 15-round magazines are included with this lot as well as a 1951 dated web sling. The M2 Carbine was fielded at the very end of World War II, with most going to the Pacific Theater. After the war, many M1 Carbines were retrofitted and made into M2 carbines by the U.S. government. These guns saw service throughout the Korean and Vietnam War eras and were even supplied to other countries by the United States thereafter. Electronic NFA registry indicates “INLAND” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original finish with some loss of finish on the high edges, and the bolt and where the charging handle rides on the receiver. Wood is very attractive, dated “6/57” on left side within sling cutout. Bore is near excellent shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are fine. This is a select-fire machine gun. Just a great fun gun to take to the range! THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
