Outstanding high condition Auto Ordnance, West Hurley Model 1928 Thompson with one unmarked black enamel painted 50-round drum, two contemporary 50-round “New York” marked drums, six 30-round G.I. magazines in two “USMC 1944” marked tan web magazine pouches, one 50-round tan “US” marked drum carrier, one green web 50 round drum carrier, one brass cleaning rod, reproduction Kerr type sling, vertical forend with retention screw in addition to the horizontal forend on the gun, and deluxe tan lined contemporary hard case. No keys present. Also included is original 1970s-80s vintage owner's manual and 1936 dated green cover Thompson promotional booklet, and Joe Poyer article on "The Postwar Thompsons". Electronic NFA registry indicates “AUTO ORDNANCE” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent lustrous blue original finish on all metal parts including bullet logo (on top) Cutts compensator. Wood is near excellent with a couple slight handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. One drum has lost some finish to a gray patina in places. This is a select fire machine gun. A very attractive specimen in high condition for the person who wants an example of the iconic American machine gun with desirable accessories.
