C. 1950s. All have original boxes and all are exceedingly scarce; the first set of 4 we have ever sold in 20 years, most likely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Beautiful tin litho, great crisp boxes. Popeye has original pipe, marked "Linemar Japan / King Features Syndicate." Olive Oyl has plastic white nose. The rarest is probably Mean Man - not called Brutus or Bluto here, but Mean Man. Oversized heads help bobbing action. Singularly, they are all elusive, but a set of 4 is almost unheard of.
