Manufactured in the first block of Winchester production from October 1942 to December 1943. "W" marked and Winchester proofed barrel with type 1 front sight and "S" marked flip rear. Internals appear to be of Winchester production and correct, including flat bolt and push button safety. Low wood stock stamped on the right with ordnance wheel and "W.R.A. / G.H.D." cartouches. "W" marked top wood retained by a type 1 flat band. Complete with sling and oiler. CONDITION: Excellent as restored. Carbine retains nearly all of its nicely reapplied finishes with only faint wear. Stocks have been lightly sanded and reoiled, cartouches faint but still visible. Some scattered mild impressions remain. Very good strong bore. ME of 1. Fine mechanics. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
