Very rare, high condition Yugoslavian M-56 machine gun. This Eastern Bloc gun appeared after World War II and was a replacement for the many heavily used wartime Ppsh-41s that were in service at the time. It incorporates a tubular folding stock, folded metal trigger, and front sight hood reminiscent of the German MP-40. The magazine and top ejection port resemble those of the Russian PPSh-41 and PPS-43, and the receiver tube cap is reminiscent of the Beretta 38/43. It incorporates a simple and reliable push-through selector above and forward of the trigger, and a simple forward bolt lock that disengages when one depresses a tab at the front of the bolt handle. Two 35-round magazines are included. Electronic NFA registry indicates “IMPORTED NFA FIREARM” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original matte finish with assembly numbers on receiver and barrel, and attractive Yugoslavian crest at top of receiver. Mechanics are crisp. Magazines are extremely fine with some handling marks. Bore extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face very fine. This is a registered receiver select-fire machine gun. This gun is a blast to shoot! Many shooters describe it as a “MP-40 on steroids” due to the higher rate of fire and power of the 7.62x25mm cartridge. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE ONLY TO ACTIVE FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 BUT MAY BE RETAINED BY SOLE PROPRIETOR FFL/SOT HOLDERS WHEN THEY RELINQUISH THEIR LICENSES UPON BATF APPROVAL.
