Although of later circa 1884 production, this carbine is in early 1st model configuration. Fiitted with a standard blued carbine length barrel with blade front sight and military rear. Early style walnut carbine stock with magazine cutoff on the right and saddle ring on the left. Wide carbine style butt plate. CONDITION: Fine. Carbine retains the vast majority of its factory blued finish which has started to fade to an overall plum brown patina with scattered marks and cleaned oxidation spotting. Stock has scattered dings and nicks, as well as a repaired split at the wrist but is otherwise good. Strong, bright bore with some light abrasions. Fine mechanics. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
