Confederate full length Georgia style pike manufactured by various blacksmiths in response to the 1862 order by Georgia Governor Joseph Brown calling for thousands to be made as defensive weapons. Blade measures approximately 12" and 1 - 1/2" at its widest point. Flat, narrow oval iron crossguard, with slightly pointed ends. A 1 - 1/8" brass collar is immediately below the guard and is followed by two 17 - 3/4" riveted iron straps. The pole measures approximately 96" with an iron repair near center. The blade and straps exhibit a nice patina with early cleaning on collar. CONDITION: Good.
