Exceptionally desirable Colt Model 614 marked AR-15 with the most classic Vietnam era (1966) features. Immediately noticeable is the lack of forward assist on the right side of the receiver, the triangular handguards, and the composition of the pistol grip as giveaways as to the vintage of this machine gun. Attractive Colt logo and "AR-15" marking over "MOD. 614" on left side of the magazine well. Four 20-round Colt magazines and a bipod with G.I. carrying case are included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “COLT” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine to near excellent original finish with only the slightest of handling marks. The action is very smooth. This weapon has been well cared for. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. A very attractive and collectible piece, and it will not be long before it will become Curio and Relic eligible. If you desire an original 1960s era U.S. military collector’s grade M16, this is one you will not want to miss. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2024-09-097.
