An attractive SR Johnson medium size dagger that was beautifully embellished by Barry Lee Hands. This dagger resembles The Chelsea Boot Dagger from SR Johnson that was also engraved by Barry Lee Hands. This dagger is nearly identical in size with a 4 - 3/4" ATS-34 blade and a 9" overall length. The blade is marked "S.R. JOHNSON / MANTI, UTAH" on the obverse ricasso and "002" on the reverse ricasso. The blade features a beautiful frosted panel on each side that is decorated with delicate scrolled leaves. Exhibition grade white pearl handles that are elaborately decorated in raised, fully sculpted, and shaded 24k gold in Barry’s Nouveau leaf pattern. Set with diamonds on the guard and handle, the ornamental design runs forward through the front guard culminating in a flourish of gold , diamonds, and steel. The grip scales are nicely bordered with red spacers, further highlighting their appearance. An integral lanyard loop pierces the pommel. The scabbard is as beautiful as the knife, featuring the same raised, fully sculpted, and shaded 24k gold in Barry’s Nouveau leaf pattern. Diamonds compliment the leaves. A large pearl stud and finial pronounce the scabbard's appearance. The knife exhibits some oxidation on the ricasso around the markings but otherwise presents excellently. There is some toning and patina to the scabbard. CONDITION: Very good. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Frank Brownell.
