Manufactured in September 1944. Springfield barrel dated "6-43" with protected blade front sight and locking bar rear. Internals include October 1943 "D28287-12SA / S-B10" bolt, relief cut "D35382 SA" op rod, 1942 "D28290-8-SA" trigger housing, 1942/1943 "C46008-3 SA" hammer, and milled trigger guard. Classic walnut stocks and a leather M1907 sling. An included note from the consignor states this rifle was acquired from the family of Edward Mason of New Hampshire, who brought the rifle home after his service in Europe. An unnamed but filled out M1 examination and 1943 field manual are also included. CONDITION: Good. Rifle retains portions of fading arsenal finish drifting to patina. Stocks are very good as cleaned and reoiled with a few minor marks. Frosted bore with defined rifling. ME of 2.5. TE of 4. Fine mechanics.
