Manufactured in 1941 in the "B" production block. Some "B" prefix Johnson rifles are known to have been in the possession of the USMC during World War II; the Marine Corps procured 750 rifles in total. The parkerized barrel is stamped under the heat shield "J.A. / 30-06". Standard protected blade front sight and adjustable rear sight graduated to 900 meters. Barrel bushing marked ".30-06" and "41". Receiver stamped on top with maker, model, patent information, and with "CRANSTON / ARMS" logo. Standard 2-piece walnut stocks with a checkered steel butt plate. Complete with a leather "LAWRENCE / S.M.G." marked M1907 sling. CONDITION: Good. Rifle finish has faded to a pleasant even gray throughout with some moderate wear. Markings remain sharp and legible. Stocks appear lightly cleaned with a few scattered impressions. A 2 - 1/2" split present on the left flat as well as a small one running from the tang. A section of wood is also replaced along the tang. Strong, frosted bore. Fine mechanics.
